Grotto is in the North Cascades Wilderness of Washington State.

Description: I saw a ball of light with what looked like fire flies surrounding it. It was hovering over the Skykomish River near Grotto. It was traveling down stream, but not with the river's current. I spotted it at about 4:30 PM. It was almost dark.

Note: The witness must have got a good look at the light (object) given that it was moving slow and that it was still daylight. The witness described lights resembling fireflies surrounding the ball of light (see drawing). Fireflies emit a chemically-produced light, emitted from the lower abdomen, may be yellow, green, or pale red in color (source: Wikipedia). I have no explanation for this sighting. I have posed some questions to the witness. Any updates will be posted.
